We had work crews out and painting was begun in the gift shop. The NAR truck was moved from east of Dunvegan Shop to the area north of the passenger car line up.
Progress is being made on the washrooms. Hans has done a marvellous job on repairing and restoring the doors and door handles in both sides. The counter tops for the washrooms are on site. Barry is coordinating the crews, but he says his volunteering is interfering with his skiing.
I have arranged for CSC (Community Service Crews) for the summer. I expect to prepare a work schedule for them so that we can plan their activities to give us help where we need it most.
Sidewalks have been dug out to the end of the passenger string west of Calder Shop. The snow (and mud) has kept us from switching cars around and doing some repairs to them. Insulation has to be put on 1392's boiler and the cladding replaced.
The wood (1x4) for the doors on the boxcar has been planed at the Correctional Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. It will be picked up in the next few days. Phil and Barry are getting ready to install it.
Scott Lang is preparing a grant application for the lighting upgrades in the shops. He is working on another for repainting the water tank.
Oh, did I mention the mud?
