"The Mac," Edmonton’s grand former railway hotel on the river, is celebrating 100 years. We’ve been a partner in a number of events this year, including the hotel’s open house on August 23.
APRA board member Kevin Franchuk was there with a display of dining car/hotel ware from the days when Canadian National Railways operated the hotel. Kevin answered questions from dozens of hotel guests and the public during the event, which included special tours and a screening of a special film marking the hotel’s centennial. (The film will be shown at select times next season at the railway museum.) It was a great opportunity to promote the museum while celebrating the city’s rich railway history.
As for the prize package, museum visitors have until the end of day Monday to enter our Celebrating 100 Years contest for a grand prize that includes:

· 3-course dinner for two in The Harvest Room
