Beautiful sunny weather drew record crowds on Father's Day this year.
Penney welcomed visitors to the station, modelling an elegant vintage hat from the gift shop. Carol took care of details on Saturday while Jim and Barry ran speeder rides.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers who contributed to making this weekend such a success!
A full train load of visitors departed the station every hour on the hour with ex-CN Diesel Locomotive 9000 pulling a vintage coach.
Many thanks to Jim, Barry and Stephen for keeping the train running on time.
The Gillson family arriving at the station after a train ride with Conductor Stephen.
Herb, our Station Master welcomed visitors, handed out tour maps and answered questions.
The biggest surprise of all was a very special wedding!
He knew he was getting married to his beloved Terrie on Sunday but had no idea of where the wedding would take place.
Imagine his surprise to find that his bride had chosen to combine his passion for trains with their wedding plans! A train ride and picnic reception topped off the celebration.
Terrie wrote,: "You have no idea of how much we appreciate the wonderful job you all did to make our special day that much more special!
It was so nice to see everyone dress to suit the style we had chosen. You all fit in so nicely!
A few of the other patrons there had asked us if we were putting on an old time show like other museums sometimes do. lol! I think half of them took pictures of us thinking that it was indeed some sort of re-enactment. :)
You have our full permission to post our pictures on your blog.
We hope more people will want to share their special days with all of you there.
A very HUGE thank you to all for making it such a wonderful day!!
