Thanks to Ivan, Barry, Sharon, Jamie, Lukas and Phil for making it happen. Ivan and Jamie demonstrated their high-wire artistry while Barry and Lukas did wood transport - loading and unloading with the backhoe and bevelling corner strips. Jamie did windows inside and making casements. Sharon was main ground crew for the tank restoration. Barry was ground crew for the last chimney removal and Calder roof patching.
Work included re-attaching and securing existing siding and/ or replacing warped/damaged siding on the tank. The upper NE window was blocked off while the lower one was replaced c/w new flashing. Casement was also added to the upper east window. There remains a small strip of siding to be replaced under the sheave beam for the water spout - not accessible with the boom lift. Extra crossing planks were used to span the grass to get to the man door (see attached photo) as two days of +10 C weather had pulled the surface frost out of the lawn.
With the main project completed, a few 'hard to reach' projects were also tackled while the boom lift was still on site. Three chimneys from Dunvegan shops were removed and the openings patched with sheet metal . Two east unit heater chimneys were also taken off Calder and holes patched and sealed.
Thanks for such a magnificent job!
