Tuesday October 22 : Hans was back working on the access hatch in the gift shop. Kyle salvaged several 2x4s from the deconstruction material. Jamie continued with the lifting business in the centre bay of the Shop. Don, Barry C and Kyle hauled more debris out from the Shop. All the troops converged on the Carpenter Shop to move the tools and box car doors off to the side so Jamie could move the articulated lift outside.
On the way through, he managed to replace a burned out light bulb in the ceiling of the carpenter shop - ladders are so passé now-a-days. Barry C and Kyle worked on putting a floor and tool racks in the track tool shed and got some padlocks on both of the sheds so as to slow down any thievery from the honest folk. And Kyle brought Tim Bits! Yummm!
Wednesday October 23 : Don made coffee, kept tabs on the Dunvegan Shop progress and continued the strategic discussions with Herb. Barry C and Lukas had a hugely productive day redistributing materials and items from the carpenter shop to sundry locations on site. Jim ensured all was well at the site and that the cats were fed.
Jamie spent the morning completing the truss reinforcement on the south side of the centre bay and the north side of the south bay and tried to keep track of which side of which bay he was actually working on. Then he moved the scissor lift out of the shop and readied it and the electric articulated lift for pick-up. With a tear in his eye for the valourous service they provided over the past month, he bade them good-bye. However he quickly changed his affections to the 45 foot diesel powered, articulated lift that was delivered to replace them.
More height, more reach, all terrain 4 wheel drive and, for the discerning operator, cup holders in the cage! What's not to like about our new toy?!?!?! And kudos to Ivan for getting a rate less than the smaller lift!
