Tuesday October 29: The odds of the mechanic appearing to fix the lift were apparently the same as those of our friendly ghosts appearing. Neither happened today so the remaining roof work in Dunvegan remains unfinished for another day. However, Barry C and Jamie did get most of the north and centre bays swept out and the carts and associated artifacts stored along the north wall of the shop. Don held court in Calder Shop and had some more strategic discussions with Herb. Jamie and Barry C helped the scrap metals company driver get the full and overflowing metal bin onto the truck and an empty bin dropped in its place.
Wednesday October 30: Barry C, Phil, Don and the tractor cleaned up debris around the metal bin, hauled out more debris from Dunvegan shop and cleaned up a few odds and ends around the site. Hans worked on archival material. Herb coordinated the loading of the NAR neon sign and the move of the CNR neon sign from the Dunvegan Shop with the assistance of Don, the tractor, Barry C, Phil and Jamie. It was placed outside for pick up on Friday by the sign company that will refurbish both signs for display at the downtown Edmonton Neon Museum. The rented lift was repaired this morning and Jamie completed the remaining truss reinforcing, thus completing the lift work for the Dunvegan Shop roof repair project.
