Gloria, Cathy, Rose Marie, Carol, Penney, Irene, and John staffed the gift shop, sold tickets, complimented guests on their new hat purchases, and practiced restraint and self control with all of the new yummy pretzels and popcorn treats next to the till. By Saturday afternoon, some quality control was necessary and passed everyone’s approval. Many gift bags were handed out to kids after each train ride with the most popular item being the little train whistles (TWEET! TWEET!).
On the station platform, Herb was sharply dressed with his Station Master’s cap greeting customers, giving out site maps, and answering the telephone.
Irene prepared a delicious lunch of chicken noodle soup, sandwiches and dessert.
Telegraphers Gerry, Fred, and John R (who also served as Monday’s crossing guard) demonstrated the telegraphy equipment in the station and hooped the train orders to the train as it passed in front of the station.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Museum this weekend to make it such a success.
We are open every weekend until Labour Day from 10:00 to 17:00h.
Speeder rides next weekend. #trainrides on long weekends.
We hope to see you there!
