Laurie and Barry W. kept things humming (not just because of the bees) and capably handled the extra load of visitors. Thanks!
The rain and staff holidays kept the CSVs away this week. The grass, painting and general cleanup suffered as a result. We need the extra help that they provide.
Had a visit from Ian Pooley from Kelowna who was interested in #4. He has pictures of it in service in the Okanagan over 40 years ago and has offered to send us some for our archives.
I mentioned that bees have taken over part of "Dawson Creek" and Malcolm, a beekeeper has offered to take care of them for us. They seem to lack a spirit of cooperation so it is not an easy job. Thanks Malcolm!
Our relationship with CFB Edmonton is moving forward thanks to one of our new members - Padre Brown with 1 Service Batallion. Padre Brown has made arrangements for a visit from the Commander. We are looking forward to some partnerships with the Batallion.
Also had a visit with Ed Gibbons our City Councillor. He expressed his support and suggested ways in which we could enhance our partnership with CFB Edmonton. Ed is City Council's Military Liaison.
Painting on Coach 6740 is nearly complete, thanks to Barry, Ivan and Niale.
The progress on renovating and upgrading Dunvegan Shop is progressing nicely. We have quotes for lighting, roof repair, insulation and heating. Once all the quotes are in place we will be preparing a grant application for the job . Nothing much has happened to Dunvegan since it was built in 1978.
Your continued interest is important to me. Let me know how you would like to contribute.
